Tobogganing track
The track was opened in spring 2007; it is located in Sigulda and it is a component of Sigulda Adventure park. This tobogganing track differs from other similar tracks, known in Latvia. It operates on the same principle as American roller coasters. The riders are fastened by safety belts and can’t fall out of the track, the speed and breaks remain under the control of the rider.
Children up to 7 years of age ride free of charge and must be accompanied by adults. Children are fastened by additional children safety belts in front of the grownups.
The tobogganing track is located next to the popular ski slope “Pilsētas trase”, which is considered one of the steepest and longest slopes in Latvia.
Height difference - 91m, length - 400m.
There are 12 curves on the track, 2 “springboards”, 1 compression.
Maximum speed is 40km/h, if this speed is exceeded, automatic breaks switch on.
The chair lift takes the passengers back to the top, which is included in the price. This is the first chair lift in the Baltics. The access to it is either from the centre of Sigulda at the “Holiday Square “ or at the bottom of the slope - 500m from the bridge of the river Gauja).
